The Severance Hospital Clinical Trials Center (CTC) was designated as a Regional Clinical Trials Center by the Ministry of Health and Welfare in 2006. Since then, CTC has strived to improve the quality of domestic clinical trials and to achieve global competition of the clinical trials field. As a result of their efforts to improve quality, CTC has been fully accredited by the Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Program (AAHRPP), and by JCI for HRP. The designation of CTC as a global leading center consortium for clinical trials by the Ministry of Health and Welfare in 2013 laid the foundation for the growth of a global clinical trials center.

CTC has recently established an IT-based system called u-CTMS (ubiquitous-Clinical Trials Management System), for more efficient and higher quality operations of clinical trials. Also, operating the CRMS (Clinical Research Management System) and the e-IRB system permit an easy access to the center support services. In addition, CTC provides the best service for clinical trials based on the accurate data provided by the development of e-CASE (e-CRF system with Accuracy, Safety, Efficacy), e-CRF system linking with the Severance Hospital´s OCS/EMR system, the first in Korea.

From challenging early clinical trials to late clinical trials for various diseases led by internationally recognized researchers, the high performing Severance Hospital Clinical Trials Center will do its best to provide a better treatment and full support for the development of domestic new drugs and new medical devices.
